Diversity
The mission of the MACUHO Diversity Committee is to provide professionals and institutions within the region access to resources that help to promote the basic rights of humankind. Through the strategies of awareness, education, programming and assessment, we strive to validate an increasingly diverse campus community, thereby enhancing lifelong learning experiences. We take aim to educate, engage and challenge ourselves, our colleagues and our students to move from tolerance to acceptance, to celebration of cultural and individual differences and similarities.

Our Current Projects
The Diversity Committee is currently assessing the conference bid process to ensure our annual conference planning process is an exemplar as it relates to inclusion of all facets of the human experience. Our current focus deals with matters related to ability, gender identification, and dietary needs. Additionally, the committee will be sponsoring a yearlong theme that will include the diffusion of helpful materials to the region and at the fall conference. Finally, the committee is currently reviewing the criteria for the COLORS award to better enhance its impact within the region. Thinking of adding your talents to these projects? Please contact a Diversity Committee Co-Chair today!

The COLORS Award
The Diversity Committee bestows to an individual within the region the COLORS Award. This award is intended to recognize professionals who embody and embrace all facets of diversity. The Committee is currently reviewing the award criteria and will releasing information soon. For more information on how your institution can promote the principles of this award, please contact a Diversity Committee Co-chair today!
