NJCORE

NJCORE (New Jersey Committee of Residence Educators) is the active membership of the New Jersey region of MACUHO (Mid-Atlantic Association of College & University Housing Officers). The annual summer conference began in August 1999 as a collaborative effort of multiple institutions within the state to pool resources and offer affordable and quality training in core competencies, as well as provide opportunities for additional professional development and networking.  Some years back a winter drive-in conference was added during the month of January to continue the resource pooling and networking opportunities.  Each year NJCORE’s “group training” conferences cover topics such as crisis management, supervision, judicial processing, diversity, advising, and other “choice” topics to meet the needs of New Jersey-area higher education institutions. Since its inception, the success and attendance of the conference has grown tremendously, and the New Jersey region now plans multiple in-service conferences and opportunities throughout the year.
