MACUHO Conferences
Professional Development opportunities are a critical component of our organization. Aside from our annual conference, MACUHO committees sponsor a number of conferences.
The Annual Conference
An Annual Conference of the MACUHO region is held every year, typically in the Fall semester, and hosted by a member institution(s). Over the years, the Annual Conference has become the focal point of the Association's activities, a tribute to the succession of Host and Program Committees that have made these events happen. The other committees have also taken the lead to present timely and educational information to the membership through a combination of drive-in workshops, printed materials and conference sessions.

The Student Staff / Live-In Staff Conference
Since 2006, the SSLI conference has combined two popular MACUHO conferences. The Live-In Conference began in 1985 and was f ormerly called "The Resident Director's Conference." The Student Staff Conference was formerly called "The RA Conference," and was designed for member institutions to bring their student staff together for a one-day conference, designed similarly to the annual professional staff conference. During the 2005 Student Staff Conference held at Penn State University, a student scholarship program was announced for students interested in joining the Housing and Residence Life field.

The Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference
Formerly held as the Mid-Atlantic College and University Placement Service (MACUPS), the Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference focuses on networking bachelor, graduate and masters entry-level professionals in the Mid-Atlantic region. Postings are also welcomed for mid- and upper-level positions and for positions for other Student Affairs offices outside of housing and residence life. The Mid-Atlantic Placement Conference begin in 1994 and serves as a regional placement conference, designed similarly to the NASPA and ACPA national job placement conferences.

NJ Core
NJCORE (New Jersey Committee of Residence Educators) is a regional conference dedicated to institutions in New Jersey. The annual summer conference began in August 1999 and a few years later a winter conference was added as well. Each year NJCORE’s “group training” conferences cover topics such as crisis management, supervision, judicial processing, diversity, advising, and other “choice” topics to meet the needs of New Jersey-area higher education institutions.
