Under the high patronage of President of Republic of Tunisia: 2nd International Conference on the theme: “New Cultural Roles of Civil Society in Promoting and Disseminating Good Governance Culture” kicks off
Under the high patronage of H.E. Mr Béji Caid Essebsi, President of the Republic of Tunisia, the 2nd International Conference on the theme: “New Cultural Roles of Civil Society in Promoting and Disseminating Good Governance Culture”, kicked off today morning in the City of Culture in Tunis. The Forum is being held by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the Tunisian National Authority for Fight against Corruption (INLUCC), and the Economic and Social Commission for West Africa (ESCWA), on 23-24 March 2018, under the theme “Together for the Promotion of Good Governance Culture”.
At the Forum’s opening session, addresses were delivered namely by Dr Mohamed Zine El Abidine, Minister of Cultural Affairs in the Republic of Tunisia; Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESCO Director General, FUIW Secretary General; Mr Chawki Tabib, INLUCC President; Dr Younes Abouyoub, Chief of ESCWA Governance and State-building Section; and Dr Taieb Baccouche, Secretary General of the Arab Maghreb Union.
The Forum’s agenda features the following themes: “Conceptual approaches to corruption: aspects, impact and countermeasures”; the “Role of civil society and the media in promoting good governance culture”; the “Role of universities and scientific research institutions in disseminating good governance culture”; and the “Efforts of regional and international organizations and bodies and their leading experiences in the promotion of good governance”. At its close, the Forum will issue the “Tunis Declaration on the Promotion and Dissemination of Good Governance Culture”.
